Great job!! When i was inside my asrx noticed how much space is wasted!! if you get any webspace do you think you could post some pics of the ASRX`s internals and the outputs at the back... I would love to try a case mod myself like this!! does it still manage to stay cool??

Hi, Its working pretty stable but I doubt I would yet call this a fail safe product with a garantie and so on. But thanks for the interest...I would gladly give tips on how to do it,but the amount of worktime I put or wasted on this machine was really quite frustrating in the end and would surely have a way to high price ...also its not really kind of up to date but it was fun to achieve. And I was surprised myself how much abuse the components can handle as I am not working under expert conditions.A lot of trial and error was involved. But now both machines are "feeding" from the same power supply and the same zip drive which is what made it possible space wise.I even discovered secret diagnostic parameters on the asrx-pro whilst messing arround.

Congradulations Dr Frankenstine!
I was just curious as to in what ways are the two boxes features intergrated if any?
ie.
what can you do with this creation that you couldn't with the seperate components?

...Frankenstein.. .. There are not any new features involved, unfortunatly I have no idea about programming otherwise I would of probably done some crazy stuff. But I like to make live sessions in clubs or just put a bag on my shoulder and go to a friends house to jam. I was allways put off by having to plan ahead and pack bags of cables and connectors and scsi drives and what not..or I would have to decide which machine to leave at home. Its great to have alot of equipment but I still dream of having one device with which I could produce and have fun jamming and this is one of those ideas. It makes music production easier for me and its fun to have these two samplers running off eachother also I just flick the switch instead of having to re-cable midi ports and audio paths. As seen in the pic,its not much larger than an mpc2k..just a panel on top,all the rest of the asrx-pro is inside. Basically 1 machine and 1 power cable.

[glow=green,2,300]Well, I'm impressed. I have a similar project going on. I'm circuit bending a Casio sk-5 and adding a midi port to it, added 1/4" jacks, etc. Should be fun. Props on completing your project. If you could simplify the production time/effort of one of them I'd buy it in a second. [/glow]
