You are absolutely correct, with a mustache like that he should be driving a slant nose porsche 930 Yanni + Slant Nose Porsche = Sleeze Ball

thanks for your input Nug. I have to agree with you, it's almost mandatory that he drives some sort of slant nose, preferably a slant nose porsche 930 turbo. Not to put the car down or anything, but that's gotta be the car he's driving.
Also, I don't think he's allowed to wear a shirt that buttons all the way up.
High exposure of chest hair=Sleezy.
I am still curious to know if his music is really good, I mean he has sold-out shows around the world?

I am still curious to know if his music is really good, I mean he has sold-out shows around the world? Well as far as his music goes, I'm not in to it. As far as talent goes, he's got some skills. I work at a place that sells used CD's, his sell quite well. He's pretty popular with the 40+ ladies.

Well, from one angle, he is perfectionist and considering that he is self thought musician and considering his advancement and some evolution in approach to harmony (In my time) he deserves compliments. With friends (I mention them twice today here on foum) from E-mu they told me he is a record owner of EIII rack (analog), apparently he has full racks of EIII.
His early voyage to electronic music were very interesting and he truly is perfectionist when it comes to mixing down the tracks and general production, he always hires the best cream for mastering.
His Album "Keys to imagination" is work of art, you have to hear that production, every track was sent through 480L to SSL, one can hardly deny that perfectionist approach.
His album "Niki Nana" surprised everyone because it was fantastic craft of Jazz, lucid arrangement and really great sounding album with original music.
He does have talent and sense for Theme, that is indisputable. He really made some beautiful themes and even people strictly form classical word regard some themes as well crafted materials.
The other side is of Yanni boring and predictable.
He floats mostly in A minor and this forms becomes boring, pathetic and mostly predictable.
I’ve never ever seen more narcissistic CD covers then those on Yanni albums. Don’t trust me, take any of his albums to see for yourself.
Every available page has at least three pictures of Yanni, every side of booklet has face of Yanni !!!!
Always some "relaxed" pose, formulated seductive angles and such, that is really funny to observe, considering he has some degree from psychology.
His countryman Vangelis is world of its own similar in sense that Vangelis is also from the same country and completely self thought. Naturally, to compare the craft, composition of Vangelis to Yanni is to compare Koenigsegg with M3 convertible or Fairlight III with Mirage.
One could easily say without exaggeration that Yanni is in commercial sense Michael Jackson of New- Age instrumental music. Naturally, in 80’s New Age meant something as genre, today it is a garbage dumb for any minimalist expression with three mystical chords. But that is greediness of industry that reshapes genres as they become more profitable.
What is also unique with Yanni, that on every original studio album (specially after early 90’s) he makes 10 compilations, in fact and I’m not trying to be funny, he has 3 times more compilations then original albums (Europe,Asia,US)
And what makes them interesting is that he actually used all possible names for those compilations.
In fact one compilation is even called >>> Yanni’s Favorite <<< now that is truly too much and not reflection of good taste. But for female , his early works themes would always make a great gift.
And since he is stacked in A minor and very emotional with themes, that music can make people optimistic (those that are away from more advanced genres of musical expression) and even be used as cure. In fact some studies have used his music to prove that.
As any other expression it is really in eyes of the observer to judge, like or dislike.
I would recommend Oystein Sevag as biggest discovery in this genre after Vangelis.
