Sometimes when I sample with 44K and when i playback the sound, it sounds all washy, and doesn't sound "true" to what I just sampled? When you guys sample at 44k, regardless of source, does the sample sound like a mirror of what you sampled? or does it sound different?

I ALWAYS SAMPLE IN STERO FIRST OF ALL......
SAMPLE AT THE LOUDEST THAT YOU CAN WITHOUT CLIPPING.....THEN RUN IT THROUGH THE KEYED EXPANDER EFFECT AND RESAMPLE IT......THIS WILL GIVE IT "BODY"
HOPE THIS HELPS!

Very interesting, thank you I will try that. Out of curiosity, why do you sample in stereo? I feel like it's a stupid question.

I am also getting that wish-washy sound... Should I sample dry? 30k? 44k?
ok ok.... slap me in the face. Dr. Pepper.... I solved my problem, It should solve yours. Sample like Polaris said above (I started sampling in stereo too, MUCH BETTER)... after you have sampled make sure the effect controll wheel (next to the pitch bend wheel) is all the way down (twards you)... its just giving the sample some tremolo like it would any instrument/sample.... WOW! back to working- hope this helped. Keep it (+)

Thanks. I wasnt aware of the tremolo whell effect. In any case, I had sent the ASR-10 to EPR Electronics in Tampa FL (Great Service, however a tad pricey) I got my problem fixed, it was deep within the input chain, and little chip was defective, once they replaced it, the signal going through the input chain was completely clean. I may even send it back to have the output chain looked at, but for now, I'm completely happy. Thanks for everyone's replies.
by the way, it cost me about $100 to ship the ASR back and forth to tampa from NY, and about 200 or so to fix it.
