Does anyone know how to simply generate a sound using the ASR? Is a synthesizer a sound generator (it generates the sound you define through paramaters right?)
does a sound have to be sampled, or loaded into the asr for the asr to perform synth functions on it?

I don't know if the ASR can generate sounds from scratch... although I could be wrong. Being a sythesizer means you can sample and load sounds and tweak them with envelopes, perameters, eq, fx, etc. IF it can indeed generate sounds from scratch... well then Iv'e got more of a machine than I thought.
So you've sampled into it, you have loaded the factory sounds etc correct?

ok, let's just suppose that it doesn't generate sound from scratch. So do I load an instrument or sample and then alter it using the filters and stuff?
