Okay i recently got it from my family, cousin gave me his. I have a mpc 1000 already so i am familiar with sampling. the question is when i try to sample into the asr the volume of the sample after i play back is so d**n low i have ot turn the channel in the mixer up to the highest point. Even when i load disk of samples that i got the volume is so d**n low, but when i play a demo the volume is so high. Im tryin to figure out how can i make the sample as loud as the d**n demo sounds. Do i need a amp? Why is the volume on the samples so low. I mean every piece of gear i hook up to the channel plays loud, but the asr is so low (except when i play the demo disk that came with it) Im trying to explai but its hard

dunno man.what else is in your setup? is the sound coming through loud on your headphones? you can go into amp and turn on 'boost' to turn the volume up on the sample

When your sampling into your asr, make sure your source (Turns, cd, etc.) Is nice and loud, check your meters on the asr. Let them just touch the red, and take it down a notch. Once you got it in, go to (edit) then (amp) hit your left arrow a few time till you see (boost), then turn it (on). Then scroll to (Vol.) and turn that $hit down to your required volume. I never use the (Normalize) Function at all. The (Boost) is more then enough for me.
