Hi, Yes, this forum is REALLY QUIET, and no you will not get all peeps from mpc-forum... Despite what K.Storm may think (post on oct2004)!!! 1). yes I vote for a name like asr10.com, easier to remember 2). the ASR-10 is an way older then the mpc2000 serie & newers' one, keep in mind tht mpc-forum pop up cuz it's about "new" gears with young cats buying they first drum machine! What would it be if it was mpc60-forum only??? 3). the 2000/XL are Akai's best seller, the most drum machines SOLD IN THE WORLD 4). Ensoniq is out of buzziness from long, and others now stands on the Keyboard-Workstation world, Korg, Roland, Yamaha, even Kurzweil's still alive in this game! And those boards are up to date, i mean, most peeps today have a DAW in theyr crib, they want .wav format, USB, tons of memory and a lot of stuff tht ASRs ain't got. 5). An other thing bout Ensoniq & ASR-10 is tht there's no customers support, and above all no OS upgrade. I mean Roger Linn (not Akai) made a new OS for the mpc60 like last year, and an indee programmer often provide upgrade for the mpc3K (last OS cames out this week). All tht things keep the comunity alive. If the mods from this board were link up with an indee programmer and try a job around a new OS, you'll see peep hiting this board! 6). Point are tht, this board is serious (a lil too bit), no dumba$$ , no easy trash talking, good infos... and with producers like KayneWest Timbo or The Alc using this GREAT SAMPLER WORKSTATION, i bet this board should rock! Peace 2 yall!

Back on the site this morning... hum... anyway! If you mods could hire an indee programmer, why not start a soft for editing your sound load & save via ZIP or whatever Mo Disk, burn dem via CD... It's just another idea... I know there's Translator, but to many issue with XP owners more with OSX owners! I think a dedicate soft for the ASR will welcome. Translator is (was) good, but hey, MPC's owners also own the MPC Pgm Maker for Mac or MPCEditor for PC, and didn't need translator for mpc sounds burning/saving and programm editing no more...

Thinkin' bout the OS upgrade... That would be nice if this upgrade allow us to increase memory, like 32Mo, look at what Akai made for the S1000, it's older than the ASR but they brought 2 upgrade, first allow you to upgrade to 32Mo and add a few features, second allow you to do big space disk and so S1000 can save files either as S1000 or S3000, yep! last upgrade make your S1000 act likie an S3000! What about this idea?

this guy make the Ram boards for S1000 (as you can't find dem no more). Maybe he could do the ASR's Ram boards for us, it will depend on the amount of ordering i think... www.firstpr.com.au/rwi/smem

Man, i can't believe there's no answers to messages... was dem bad ideas? You can promote a site but it needs to have actives members & MODERATORS to keep it alive. I've noticed that more & more questions bout the ASR10 pops on the mpc-tutor site... think of it...

I know I check up on the site at least once a week, and I'm just one of the Mods... when there's less than 3 or 4 posts a month, it's hard to *spark* interest. I do agree we need to figure out how to turn more people on to the site. Oh and video tut's are a great idea, I'd be willing to do some, I'm not sure how to host video though. Let me know and I'll post some~
